How To DIY Like A Pro
There are as many types of pressure washing as there are stars in the sky. But your friends at High Tide ProWash Services have gotten together to create a master list of all the pressure washing skills you may need to take care of your home.
Soft Washing DIY
There are a few pressure washing jobs that require a gentle touch. Some of them still use detergents, like fence washing, though it is a wood-specific cleaner. Lanai screen cleaning is simply done with vinegar and water, and sometimes bleach.
All soft washing work is generally done at around a PSI of 1000, which is still much stronger than your average garden hose. Fence washing is done at around 1800 PSI.
Pressure Washing DIY
It is recommended that you leave pressure washing to the professionals, but if your heart is set on DIY you should do it with as much information as possible; don't cut corners. Be careful taking apart your pressure washing when you are finished, or it could depressurize dangerously. DO NOT POINT THE WAND AT ANYONE, it's not a hose.
If you are hit by a pressurized stream, go to the ER immediately! Wounds will be deeper than they appear. The higher the pressure required for a job, the less safe it is to handle it without proper training.
